April Favourites

Hello, It’s been about ten years since the last time I wrote a blog—yes, I was a Blogspot girly (all you OG readers would know). Circa 2012–2015, when Tumblr feeds were a personality trait, Aztec prints were everything, and penny boards ruled the world.I had just hit 5,000 followers on Instagram and honestly believed that was the peak of my digital life—I couldn’t imagine it ever getting better than that (If only 12 year old melly can see how much she’s grown now).

Fast forward to 2025 and here I am, writing again many things different, while many are still the same. And what better way to ease back into this journal journey than to rave about the top ten things I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this April? I do this a lot with my best friend—we’ll just catch up and talk about the products we’ve discovered and loved since the last time we talked.

Today, you and I are doing that together.

1. Clive Christian – Private Collection Red Tea Vetiver Perfume

Every morning, without fail, I reach for this perfume—even when I have no place to be. The freshness of red tea and lemon wrapped in the depth of sandalwood just hugs my soul. It's grounding, calming, and it lingers so elegantly on the skin. It’s quickly become my signature scent for the Australian winter (yes, I live in Sydney now!).

2. Rhode – Peptide Lip Tint

Must I explain? This tiny tube has a tight grip on me. I have one in every single bag I carry. It’s the kind of product that gives your lips a hydrated glow without the sticky mess. The tint feels effortless, the texture is buttery, and honestly, my lips have never felt better.

3. Jaune Pearls – Love and Loyalty Ring

Okay, yes—it’s from my own brand. But hear me out. This piece transforms any outfit, whether you’re in jeans or a slip dress. It features two AA-graded Tahitian pearls, one 14mm and the other 11mm, in body colours of ocean deep and soft snow—an embodiment of the moon and sun in perfect harmony. Pearls take years to form—anywhere between 2 to 4 years—and that’s part of what makes them so rare and special. They’re organic, sustainable, and carry an energy that feels calming and alive.

Fun fact: This piece was a favourite at LA Fashion Week.

4. Caudalie – Premier Cru La Crème

I’ve tried countless moisturisers, but none have left my skin feeling quite like this. It’s thick but never greasy, and it melts into the skin like velvet. I wake up with plump, nourished skin every morning. It’s like giving your face a glass of wine—but make it skincare. I’ve been loving this as the seasons shift and my skin needs that extra dose of luxury and hydration.

5. Polène – Mini Mokki in Chalk

If elegance could be distilled into a handbag, this would be it. The Mini Mokki is perfectly structured yet soft, and the chalk colour goes with literally everything I own. The leather is supple, the stitching is meticulous, and it fits all my essentials without ever feeling bulky. It's the bag I reach for when I want to feel quietly confident—day or night.

6. Summer Fridays – Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist

This mist is my little secret weapon for glow. I spray it right before I do my makeup, and it gives me that dewy, just-got-back-from-a-facial skin. It hydrates, calms, and preps so beautifully that I honestly feel like my foundation applies better because of it. It’s been my April essential for both no-makeup and full glam days.

7. Rare Beauty – Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

This blush is what dreams are made of. A little goes a long way, and the finish is so natural it’s almost like I’ve been blushing all day from a compliment. It melts into the skin like second nature and gives that healthy, radiant flush I’m always chasing. I’ve been reaching for it daily and it hasn’t failed me once.

8. Bio-Therapeutic – bt-sonic Cleansing Brush

Where has this been all my life? I didn’t realise how poorly I was cleansing my skin until I started using this tool. It’s compact, gentle, and gets everything out—makeup, sunscreen, stress. My face feels like it can breathe again, and breakouts have been noticeably fewer. It’s become a non-negotiable in my day and night routine.

9. Elizabeth Arden – Visible Brightening Spot Correcting Capsules

These tiny capsules pack a serious punch. I’ve seen such a difference in the evenness and glow of my skin since using them. Dark spots have lightened, my complexion is brighter, and my skin just looks awake. I use one every night and truly look forward to it—it’s like a tiny ritual of self-care.

10. Silver Mug Set – A Gift from My Parents

This one’s sentimental. My parents gifted me a beautiful silver mug and I’ve been using them every single morning. Whether it’s coffee, tea, or warm lemon water, drinking from these makes me feel connected to home. It adds a layer of calm and grounding to my morning routine—and I think that’s the real luxury.

I can’t believe how full circle this feels—to be writing again after all these years. Whether you’ve been reading since the Blogspot era or you’re new here, thank you for sharing this moment with me. I’ll write to you again soon!!

With love,
Melizza
Your forever blogspot girly, now grown.
